FEMA’s Post-Disaster Building Evaluation Safety Guidance

For inspecting buildings.

Recently I heard a presentation on post-earthquake building inspections, which led me to this FEMA post-disaster building safety evaluation document, which is two years old but still the most current publication.

There is also this listing of FEMA publications: Building Science Resource Library.

The presentation I mention above was about ATC-20. For more on that, see “ATC-20: Post-Earthquake Safety Evaluation of Buildings – who, what, where, when, how?”

Life has gotten a bit more complicated (here in Washington state, anyway) with who can post placards on the status of a building post-earthquake.
