Is This the New Normal in Fast Food — After the Pandemic?

Far fetched? Perhaps not!

Everyone is talking about how when the pandemic is over we will go back to a "new normal," but what does that look like? Hybrid offices are one solution being discussed for office workers who will not be spending 40 hours a week in a company office setting.

Then there is fast food. How might that change? Well let me tell you, or better yet watch this video with a really fast talking narrator and flash bang graphics: "How This Taco Bell Concept Store Plans To Revolutionize The Drive-Thru Experience."

Will all this come to pass — I don't know. However, it is an example of experimentation and cost cutting which I know everyone in business is thinking about. Remember why McDonalds used to serve "super hot coffee?" That's right — they got a few extra cups out of every brewing. Then someone got seriously burned when they spilled it on their lap — and sued, which is how we found out about the "few extra cups."

Eventually the pandemic will be in our rearview mirrors, and who knows what the fallout will be. Office space, fast food, emergency management?
