Job: FEMA, Risk Analyst

FEMA Region X has an opening for a GIS type person.

Earlier today I was asked to comment on issues, drivers and trends for emergency management.  The first item on my list was, "Maps, maps, maps."  GIS mapping is important today and more important in the future.

This FEMA Region X Risk Analyst position is one that would position you for a career in emergency management.  The real "risk" of this type of position is maybe getting pigeon holed as a techie type--if you don't want to be one.  However, in the future most emergency management jobs will have a high tech, high touch requirement.
