King Tides

For a landlubber like me from Illinois, I had a lot to learn about the ocean, currents and tides. I'm still learning.

I was unable to get a blog post done about the warning "for last weekend" about King Tides along the Oregon-Washington coasts. See Extremely high 'King Tides' will hit Oregon Coast. 

While the threat of a near-term King Tide is over, you might want to educate yourself if you live near the coast or go to the ocean for recreation. Unfortunately for one family, it led to the death of two children in Oregon, Witness recalls panic after children swept to sea in Oregon.

Sad, very sad. With the advent of sea rise, we cannot base future risks upon what our personal experiences have been in the past.
