Microsoft Unleashes ‘Death Star’ on SolarWinds

While sometimes considered evil, Microsoft kills for good this time.

The "big hack" of 2020 has been all over the news of late. I've read many a story about how hard it will be to detect and rid hackers who have gotten into a multitude of computer systems and have been rummaging around in there for about nine months undetected.

Here is a positive story of how Microsoft has used its immense size and influence for good to beat back the hackers:

"Microsoft unleashes ‘Death Star’ on SolarWinds hackers in extraordinary response to breach"

Now, how "clean is clean" when it comes to having the malware actually be gone? I'm reminded here of the movie Poltergeist. Near the end of the movie, there is a woman who "casts out all the evil spirits" and declares the house "is clean!" But later that day/evening it appears it is not so "clean."

We'll just have to see. My recommendation — stay out of the swimming pool in the backyard!
