More Public Health Definitions

Know the lingo so you understand the health department's messages.

I read this the other day and thought it would be good to share here:

"Public health officials define containment as steps to interrupt transmission, like tracing patient contacts, isolation and quarantine. Mitigation is when you accept that you cannot prevent the virus from spreading, and instead focus on treating patients, vaccines and reducing the strain on health systems and society."

It appears to me that we are still in the containment phase, here in the United States.

With the production and dissemination of testing kits become more widespread, I think we'll see many more cases popping up in the United States that went undiagnosed previously. You can't tell the difference between the different types of upper respiratory diseases unless you can test for them.
