Schmidt Among Presenters at Upcoming Global InfoSec 2002

The President's vice chair of the Critical Infrastructure Protection Board will be among a host of speakers and presenters at the free conference.

NEW YORK - Speakers and presenters, such as Robert Weaver from the Secret Service and Howard Schmidt, vice chair of the President's Critical Infrastructure Protection Board, will highlight The Global InfoSec 2002, a free conference hosted by the United Nations' Working Group and the Association for Information Technologies in New York City on Sept. 5-6.

The conference, "Controlling and Assuring Security in Government and Private Sector Environments," will offer nearly two days of the top experts on security detailing the latest advances in information security as enablers for growth in electronic commerce, electronic government and business.

Weaver developed the New York Electronic Crime Task Force. He will deliver a presentation titled "The Latest Techniques on How to Use Virtual Table-Top Immediate Action Drills Without Actually Experiencing Physical, Cyber, Telecommunications, Utility, Logical and/or all of the Above Attacks on Banking, Finance, Telecommunications and Energy Corporations or Organizations."

Schmidt is a past general manager and security officer for Microsoft. He will discuss the purpose and scope of the President's Critical Infrastructure Protection Board. In included in the presentation will be "What comprises critical infrastructures in the public and private sectors and the Board's priorities."
