Virginia Outsources Asset Management

Contract helps state stay current with technology

The Commonwealth of Virginia awarded DynTek, a provider of technology, management and cyber security solutions to state and local government agencies, a statewide, single-award contract for secure data destruction and disposal. The contract term is three years, with four one-year optional renewals.

Under the terms of the contract, DynTek is pre-qualified to assist state agencies with the management and disposal of obsolete and surplus technology assets. In order to stay current with evolving technology standards, agencies must constantly refresh their assets, which can be a financial and logistical liability. DynTek alleviates this burden by providing a secure asset management program that will enable the commonwealth to repurpose a large portion of the assets in order to generate revenue and offset the cost of technology. DynTek developed a comprehensive system that will monitor and track security policies and procedures, data sanitization methods, verification, validation and tagging of assets, and asset valuation and resale options.

DynTek currently provides secure data destruction and disposal services for the Virginia Department of Corrections. In addition, the commonwealth recently awarded the company a contract extension for seat management services.
