Raleigh CISO Rob Reynolds Heads to Orange County, N.C.

Robert Reynolds announced that he will be leaving his current role as city CISO Oct. 27 to become the CIO of neighboring Orange County. He starts his new role with the county Oct. 30.

The city of Raleigh, N.C., is losing its chief information security officer to a nearby county.

Robert Reynolds announced that he will be leaving his current role as city CISO Oct. 27 to become the CIO of the neighboring county. He starts his new role with the county Oct. 30.

In a recent press release from Orange County, Reynolds outlined his objectives for his forthcoming CIO role.

“As the chief information officer, my priorities will include leveraging technology to drive the strategic goals and objectives of Orange County, fostering innovation, and ensuring the secure and efficient operation of technology solutions to serve the residents of Orange County,” he said.

Reynolds led cybersecurity efforts for the city of Raleigh for nearly two years. Before leading the Raleigh team, he served as CISO for the town of Chapel Hill.

“Orange County is such a special place and has so much to offer its residents,” Reynolds said. “Having worked for the Town of Chapel Hill for many years, I am excited to accept this position to once again serve the residents of Orange County.”
