The company is one of five finalists in the seed stage category and one of 15 finalists overall in the SXSW Startup Village Industrial Technology Pitch Competition, which will take place March 14 in Austin, Texas. All finalists are under consideration for a pilot program with HOLT CAT, one of the sponsors, and winners from each of the three categories will receive part of the $50,000 pot as well as access to fundraising strategies from involved venture firms.
PermitZone, headquartered in Myrtle Beach, S.C., offers local governments a digital permitting platform that lets contractors apply online. From the company’s software, city employees can manage the permitting process and auto-populate forms.
The firm has raised $200,000 in capital since it launched in September 2016.
