University officials say they've identified the recent problem with Internet connectivity across campus, and they have no evidence it was due to a cybersecurity incident or that personal information has been compromised.

(TNS) — Louisiana State University has been experiencing Internet connectivity problems across campus on Monday and Tuesday, but said this afternoon that the issues did not appear to be a result of a cybersecurity attack.

University officials said there is no evidence that any personal information has been breached or exposed and it is safe to log into myLSU, Moodle, or any other part of the LSU network.

Issues arose Monday with students and faculty experiencing "sporadic activity," according to LSU Information Technology Services.

LSU says they have identified the problem and are still investigating it.

"Except for a brief outage this morning, our Internet connectivity has been stable today," the statement read. "We anticipate that it will continue to be stable, but if anything changes, we will keep you posted."

Meanwhile, Southeastern has been dealing since Thursday with more severe technology problems. The university's website, email, and other systems are down entirely.

While the university has not explicitly said the outages were caused by a cyber attack, it did say it had called in Louisiana State Police to investigate.
