Echo Healthcare’s new division, Echo Education Technology, has interactive tools and services for K-12 educators, including HOSA, STEM and career and technical education institutions at the elementary, middle and high school levels, the company said in a Tuesday news release.
Among the division’s products are adult, pediatric and infant medical training manikins, with skin suits and masks to put on the dummy patient to increase the realism for students, simulated patient monitors and immersive interactive content to morph a classroom into numerous touch sensor environments, with smells and sounds to mirror a real-world setting to boost student engagement, the release said.
According to the company’s website, the interactive tool — originally created to provide a platform for children with autism — is accompanied by the Immersive Studio software, which is accessible on a tablet and allows users to navigate through the virtual content options. Additionally, the interactive tool is equipped with a 360-degree camera to record and upload quizzes, lab reports and X-rays, among other features, to fulfill the needs of the classroom, it said.
“Our products continue to evolve to allow students to engage in the educational content being delivered to them in a hands-on way so the information is retained long-term,” Echo Healthcare CEO Kevin King said in a statement.
