4 Stages of COVID-19 Denial

Wishing away the virus!

After looking at all the Memorial Day crowds that assembled in some places, I decided to modify my general four stages of denial that has to do with disasters in general to specifically address COVID-19.

Four Stages of COVID-19 Denial

1. It will go away. The worst is over and it is time to get back to work and to party.

2. If it has not gone away completely, I'm not worried about me getting it. It is other people who will get sick.

3. If it has not gone away, and I do get it, it won't be that bad. I'm young, younger, healthy. It's old people who die.

4. If I do get it, I likely won't die. Many people don't even know they have it. If it is bad, I'll go to the hospital. My chances of dying are slim.

These are the basics with many other streams flowing from them. In the past I've written about not forming your defense or wartime strategies on political ideologies. To wear a mask in public should not be based on if you are a Republican or Democrat. It should be based on science.

Political ideology has no prophylactic benefits.
