This illuminating Discover Magazine article written in 2012, will answer the questions posed above. It isn’t provided to alarm or frighten anyone. It is offered to help inform everyone about Cascadia and the issues it may present should nature unleash its fury. Our hope is more people will become involved in coastal planning, building and land use changes and search for answers to best prepare for not only an earthquake and tsunami, but for every natural disaster we could encounter in our cities, county and region. The more we know and understand about the risk and hazard of all natural disaster events, the further we can lessen the impact upon family, friends and community.
