What Is the Right Economic Stimulus?

Which path should we take? How much is enough?

I've heard some really, really big numbers being thrown around on TV today. Numbers like $4 trillion! Maybe that is all talk. I remember my old senator from Illinois, Everett Dirksen who coined the phrase, "A billion here, a billion there, pretty soon, you're talking real money." Wouldn't he be surprised at the numbers being tossed around today.

Here is an op-ed on about what might work for a stimulus, Industry bailouts and tax cuts are the last things we need to turn around the coronavirus crash.

I'm not an economist, but I can tell you that speed makes all the difference. Personally, I like multiple bills over time and not shooting the entire wad in one fell swoop. Speed and a measured response that helps people, not industries, families who need the help now for rent and food.
