In addition to holding a digital version of a driver’s license, the Arizona Wallet will, slightly later this year, let users store electronic versions of important transportation-related documents. The wallet can be downloaded from Apple’s App Store or the Google Play Store. Officials have not yet released a go-live date for the Arizona Wallet’s newest features, but anticipate their arrival some time prior to the summer season.
“ADOT MVD is proud to once again be a leader in offering additional functionality to smartphones and conveniently conducting business in this digital world,” Jay Chilton, Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division (ADOT MVD) business strategy manager, said in a statement. “Arizona Wallet is another way ADOT MVD helps get Arizona residents out of the line and safely on the road.”
The project is a partnership with technology provider AstreaX. The wallet will also alert drivers about upcoming dates like registration or license expirations.
