Law Enforcement Leaders Get Their Own AI ‘Analyst’

As public safety staffing shortages persist, Truleo is betting that a new AI tool focused on police chiefs and staff can help reduce law enforcement workflow burdens — and prevent the need to hire full-time assistants.

The white shirts are getting their own AI tool via one of the most recent product offerings for law enforcement.

South Carolina-based Truleo, whose agentic AI platform is used by more than 1,100 public safety agencies, said it has expanded its AI Analyst tool to serve the specific needs of police chiefs and administrative staff.

Those needs include operational and reporting responsibilities, according to a company statement.

The idea — one of the animating theories behind so much new public safety tech, especially as staffing shortages persist — is “doing more with less.” Chiefs and their staff often are taking on extra work these days, including “analyst duties,” according to Truleo.

Its new offering seeks to connect with existing systems — covering such areas as budget, policies and performance, along with records and dispatch — and to consolidate data automatically, which in turn can help with decision-making, at least according to the company’s sales pitch.

The new AI product can automate administrative workflows, generate daily, monthly and quarterly reports, streamline compliance, “track performance trends” and perform other tasks. The tool can save the cost of hiring a full-time analyst, the company said.

“I’ve heard from chiefs who spend more time on paperwork than on people,” said Anthony Tassone, CEO and co-founder of Truleo, in the statement. “Our latest additions to Analyst were intentionally built to flip that equation. It’s about giving agencies a digital partner that lightens the administrative load while giving leadership back the time to lead their people and protect their communities.”
