NoTraffic’s Newest Tools Seek to Improve Road Safety

The company, based in the U.S. and Israel, has launched hardware and apps to help state and local traffic engineers make travel safer. The move reflects the growth of cloud-based gov tech services.

Traffic management technology supplier NoTraffic has launched a hardware device and other tools designed to help local and state officials better manage intersections and infrastructure — and potentially reduce accidents.

In a statement, the company describes its new Nexus OMNI product as “a next-generation intersection device, engineered to enhance compatibility and simplify deployment.”

The hardware is smaller than similar devices and can support “all standard traffic cabinet types,” referring to the enclosed boxes at intersections that contain electrical gear.

The device has a 1U form factor that can save space in those cabinets, NoTraffic said in the statement.

So far, the Florida Department of Transportation has approved the device, paving the way for deployment.

"The Nexus OMNI is more than a hardware update — it's a bridge between outdated infrastructure and the next generation of traffic management," said Tal Kreisler, CEO and co-founder of NoTraffic, in the statement. "As we enter a phase where infrastructure must go beyond mere connectivity and offer intelligence, resilience and proactive capabilities as well, the Nexus OMNI makes intersection digitization simpler, safer and future-ready."

NoTraffic also now sells a “standalone version” of its Nexus product, which can support up to eight LAN ports and provide video uploads to the cloud along with remote access to cabinets. That means customers using Nexus “can seamlessly upgrade to NoTraffic's complete AI mobility platform at any time,” according to the statement.

The company, based in the U.S. and Israel, has also launched applications. They include Near-Miss Insights, which via video and other data can help traffic engineers better understand risk factors along specific stretches of road; and Situational Awareness, with tracks all movement through an intersection via video and rich metadata.

NoTraffic, which operates in 38 states, was founded in 2017 and raised $50 million in 2023.
