ZeroEyes Takes Flight With New Law Enforcement Drones

The supplier of public safety technology, which sells AI-based gun detection tools, has launched "aerial detection kits." The company joins peers that have already taken to the skies via drones.

Suppliers of law enforcement technology are taking to the skies with drones and drone software, with the latest example coming from ZeroEyes, best known for its gun detection technology.

The seven-year-old supplier of government technology recently debuted its ZeroEyes Aerial Detection Kits, or ZAD, through the subsidiary ZE Government Solutions.

In a statement, the company, based in Pennsylvania, describes the product as “a portable, drone-based AI threat detection and intelligent situational awareness solution designed for public safety agencies.”

The ZAD software offers a live camera feed and can spot firearms, vehicles, boats, other drones and people, according to the company.

As the company’s sales pitch puts it, “outdoor spaces are among the most challenging environments to protect due to their size and open nature, leaving them vulnerable to unauthorized access and potential gun-related violence.”

ZeroEyes says its new product can help police deal with event and perimeter security, armed suspects, searches, barricaded people with guns, hostage situations and domestic disputes.

Other suppliers of public safety tech also are now selling their own drones and drone technology — and not just for traditional law enforcement, either.

“Protecting outdoor spaces is one of the greatest challenges in security today,” said Dustin Kisling, executive vice president of ZE Government Solutions, in the statement. “With our new drone solution, we can detect potential threats in real time and provide verified alerts, giving organizations and the public the confidence that help is on the way when it matters most.”
