Joshua Schank, the former chief innovation officer for Los Angeles Metro, is now a managing principal at InfraStrategies, a boutique consulting firm.

Schank joined the company in February 2022, after heading up the Office of Extraordinary Innovation at L.A. Metro since 2015. He helped initiate projects like on-demand micro transit at Metro.

“I tried to bring numerous new innovations to bear at one of the largest public transit agencies in the U.S. in the largest county in the United States,” said Schank in some of his comments Wednesday during a panel discussion around bus lanes organized by CoMotion LIVE.

InfraStrategies helps to advise technology companies on how to communicate with government, and advises government in new technology areas.

“I look forward to using the lessons we’ve learned about public-private partnerships, innovation and strategic policy at Metro to help others in the transportation industry,” Schank said in a company press release.

Schank has also served as president and CEO of the Eno Center for Transportation, a policy institution. He was also a transportation policy adviser to former New York Sen. Hillary Clinton.
