Wisconsin Fills Vacant Chief Information Security Position

Wisconsin’s Division of Enterprise Technology has a new senior leader in Troy Stairwalt. He brings more than 25 years of experience in the private sector to the chief information security officer role.

A new face has appeared on the Wisconsin Division of Enterprise Technology website, filling a role that had been vacant for several months.

According to the DET’s website, Troy Stairwalt is now listed as the agency’s state chief information officer – director of Security Bureau.

The former CISO, Alan Greenberg, left the position in August after serving in the role since May 2021.

Stairwalt has a background in health care, recently serving in the role of vice president of information security for Akron Children’s Hospital in Ohio. In that position, he oversaw all aspects of information security for the main hospital campuses and more than 60 specialty care locations throughout the state.

Stairwalt has also recently worked as an adjunct instructor at the University of Akron, teaching classes about information systems risk and data security.

According to Stairwalt’s LinkedIn profile, he has 25 years of professional experience in IT, primarily in the insurance industry.
